Title:
Victorian Wonder I

Comment:
This is the first long exposure photograph I've taken with my new Canon 5D MkII and my new 10 stop Pro Glass ND filter form Lee.
It's a test shot to see how they both work together. They're very different from my privious Canon 40D and BW 10 stop ND filter setup.
Needless to say I'm very encouraged with the results and the partnership shows promise.
All comments & constructive critiques welcome.

I really like the wide angle look here. The building on the left being the size it is, then things fading off to the far distance as you go to the right is a nice touch here. And of course, that sky is pretty amazing. Although, it's almost too amazing, meaning that it looks almost fake. Seeing a full color shot might be interesting.

My only real criticism is that the sky has some pretty strong halos, on the left side on the roof of the building. Was this composed of multiple exposures, HDR like? Haloing skies is something I tend to notice, and it's one of the first things I saw, after the field of view and the sky.

As I say this is a test print.

I rushed the processing with a process learnt from Lee Frost, hence what you call "Haloing". It's just an unfortunate result of that type of processing. I also pick up on these issues when viewing photographs. This is the real sky but the colour original doesn't do the image justice.

Thank you for your honest comment.

Ah ok, yeah I bet you need to do a lot of tests with new cameras and filters. Using an ND filter sounds cool, but since I only have a point & shoot camera, I can't really do the filters. I sometimes stick a polarizer in front of my camera, to darken the sky and kill highlights, but I don't do that too often.
